The past year has given us an opportunity to reflect upon what is most important in our lives. For most, this includes family, friends and nature. The Reboli Center is honored to present the work of three artists whose works epitomize the wonder and beauty of Long Island. Whether you live here or just return for the summer, we invite you to enjoy dynamic and colorful work of Lynn Mara, Casey Chalem Anderson and Joseph Reboli.
New York Artist, Lynn Mara, is well known for her expressive, colorful, abstract paintings that often feature American equestrian imagery as well as summer scenes, color drenched landscapes and other American-inspired subjects. Lynn refers to herself as an Expressionist. Lynn Mara was named the Official Hampton Classic Poster Artist in 2017. Lynn's work has also been featured on the Hampton Jitney and at Met Life Stadium in the Legacy Club. "Using a variety of mediums, she uses her imagination when it comes to the process of creating her paintings... Lynn has tried and combined them all to create her own style of landscapes and portraits with contrasting colors that draw you into the moment. Her inspirations come from modern art masters, Leroy Neiman and Andy Warhol [additionally Fairfield Porter, Banksy and Jack Reggio], as well as the beautiful scenes that surrounds her home of Southampton. Her paintings depict life in a beautiful arrangement of color and form, cementing her belief that humans are connected to nature on spiritual level, and uses art to show her passion for life." - Shya Beth. Lynn is currently working on a tenth anniversary piece since Super Bowl XLVI for the NY Giants which will be given away at Giants Stadium this coming season.
Casey Chalem Anderson is a Greenwich Village native who passionately creates oil paintings of and inspired by the Hamptons landscape and its natural forms. Casey splits her time between Sag Harbor and New York City, immersing herself in both natural and urban artistic worlds. Casey can often be found at the beach, observing the changes in time, color, and weather, which manifest on her canvases as a balance between tranquility and visual stimulation. Casey's artworks that will be featured in Coming Home will range from realism to abstract.
We continue the theme of Coming Home in our history room with an exhibit about the life and work of Leslie Marchant, who built many Long Island landmark buildings including the Stony Brook Village Center. We are grateful to Tricia Foley for curating The Legacy of Leslie Marchant.
