Tyler Hughes is a representational oil painter based in Smithtown, New York. Since graduating from SUNY New Paltz in 2015 with a degree in Visual Arts, Hughes has continued his classical training. Demonstrating heavy influences from tenebrists such as Caravaggio and Ribera, and naturalists from the Renaissance to Sargent, Hughes brings traditional techniques into contemporary settings. He has recently received an influx of positive social media buzz surrounding his latest collection of miniature landscapes. Hughes maintains a studio locally, in Patchogue, NY.
