A Three Evening Course with Mary Jane Stevens

The Reboli Center is pleased to offer a three-evening mini-course in watercolor techniques taught by award-winning Long Island watercolor artist Mary Jane Stevens. The course is designed for beginning and intermediate artists wishing to explore and improve their watercolor painting techniques. Ms. Stevens will start with the basics and progress gradually to more complex subjects and concepts. A variety of application techniques, including wet on dry, wet on wet, dry on wet, using salt and more will be demonstrated and discussed. The class will also explore color theory and color mingling/mixing. Seasonal subjects (autumn and Holiday) through the use of still life and photo references provided in class will be the focus of artwork. Participants may even be able to design their own unique holiday greeting card by the end of the course.
Attendance is limited. The course fee for all three sessions is $135.
Mary Jane Stevens has been painting and studying watercolors for the past twenty-five years and is returning to teach at the Reboli Center after a highly successful mini-series in the spring. She is a founding member of the Long Island Watercolor Society and works with the Society to organize events and shows for that organization. She has exhibited widely in galleries and events across Long Island and is the recipient of numerous awards for her work in watercolor. Her painting style is direct, free, transparent and colorful.
