For this month's Third Friday special, we interviewed exhibiting photographer, Patricia Paladines. A Long Island local and environmental educator. Paladines, originally from Ecuador, moved to the United States with her family when she was just a toddler. In the mid 1980's she relocated from Chicago to New York and started to dive into the world of photography, art and design. Paladines has an impressive work history; a research assistant in the Department of Prints, Photographs, and Architecture at the New-York Historical Society, teaching elementary to college level environmental science, doing graphic camera work for Estée Lauder, working as the assistant to the Vice President of Ocean Conservation at the National Audubon Society in Islip, joining the Board of Directors at The Center for Environmental Education and Discovery in Brookhaven and more. In this interview you will learn about Patricia Paladines, her story, her art and how they intertwine.
If you haven't yet, we encourage you to stop by during our regular business hours to see our current exhibition, Through the Lens, where you can enjoy Paladine's work, Reboli's work and a myriad of other wonderful, New York based photographers. As always, our exhibitions are FREE and open to the public. No reservations are required to attend. If you are a group seeking a guided tour however, we do recommend making a reservation.
