The Reboli Center for Art and History is pleased to announce Denisse Aneke as the December 2025 Artisan of the Month. Born in Cali, Colombia, Aneke cultivated an early and enduring connection to the arts. She earned her bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the Departmental Institute of Fine Arts in 2004, but her artistic foundation began long before her formal training. Summers spent in her family’s jewelry workshop, where both of her parents were skilled jewelry makers, introduced her to the craft that would become central to her creative life. As a teenager, she joined her father in the workshop, learning techniques, experimenting with materials, and discovering the expressive possibilities of jewelry design.

After relocating to New York in 2005, Aneke continued to refine her craft, eventually launching her own line, Denisse Aneke Jewelry, in 2015. Her work draws deeply from the vibrant energy of her Colombian heritage and the rich symbolism of global and indigenous Colombian cultures. Guided by an appreciation for color, geometry, and simplicity, echoing artists such as Chagall, Klee, Mondrian, and Picasso, Aneke creates pieces that balance elegance with playfulness.

Her designs are distinguished by clean, organic silhouettes that provide space for color and texture to shine. Aneke incorporates hand-woven beads to build intricate patterns and vivid palettes, layering hues like brushstrokes to create jewelry that feels tactile, contemporary, and intimately expressive. Each piece bears the hallmarks of intentional craftsmanship and thoughtful storytelling, an anecdote of emotion captured in form, color, and detail.

“Aneke’s work reflects an extraordinary synthesis of heritage, technique, and artistic vision,” said The Director of The Reboli Center. “ We are honored to showcase her work in our Design Shop this December.”

Visitors are invited to explore Aneke’s collection in The Reboli Center Design Shop throughout December. Each piece, meticulously crafted, offers a compelling blend of artistry, cultural resonance, and modern elegance. No reservations are required, and there is no admission fee during regular business hours (Tues–Sat 11am–5pm, Sun 1pm–5pm).

We look forward to welcoming you to experience the distinctive work of our December Artisan of the Month.
