Join us this summer at The Reboli Center for Art and History as we proudly host a delightful and humorous exhibition by artist Carol Luz. Known for her whimsical oil paintings of dogs engaging in human activities, Luz brings to life a world where animals step into our shoes, playing out scenarios full of personality and charm.
The exhibition, running from July 14 to August 17, 2025, will showcase Luz’s playful exploration of contemporary realism, bringing to the forefront the humorous side of our furry companions. Through her work, Luz hopes to spark joy, offering a lighthearted, theatrical take on the human experience with animals at its center.
Luz explains. that one of her main goals in painting is to bring a smile and chuckle to every viewer, just as animals always do. Each piece is a testament to Luz's signature style, blending the whimsical with the relatable, inviting viewers to engage with her vibrant, character-filled creations.
Luz, a published artist with a BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology, has exhibited her work throughout the Tri-State Area and has been featured in Dan’s Papers. A lifelong resident of the Hamptons, she now resides in Putnam County, NY, where she shares her home with her two beloved dogs, Judy and Elroy (named after The Jetsons).
The Reboli Center for Art and History is honored to host this special exhibition, providing an inspiring and accessible space to experience Luz's art. Nestled overlooking Stony Brook Creek and the harbor, our Center offers a serene environment for visitors to explore and appreciate art in all its forms.
