In 1999, Celine immigrated to the United States as an outstanding designer and writer. She was employed at multiple high-end fashion companies as a pattern maker. For nearly 5 years, she learned pattern-making skills from the famous Italian pattern maker, Mr. Umberto Manzo, and continued further studies at FIT. Years of hard work honed her skills and enhanced her taste in high-end clothing. She became the senior pattern maker in famous US brands like Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Coach, etc. Based on her almost 40 years of pattern-making experience, Celine spent 10 years writing her book “The U.S. Draping & Pattern-Making Technologies” and went on tour to give tutoring in China. As of 2023, about 60 companies and colleges have invited Celine to provide tutoring services.

In 2020, she opened the WeChat Public Account. In 2021 she launched "Hong Xia Chen Fashion Class" and in November of 2022, she founded a new company, Guangzhou MeiQianYiMan Fashion Design LLC. She hopes to contribute to her motherland by sharing her knowledge of international draping and pattern making, and cultivating more technical talents on an international level.

We hope you will join us for an informative and inspiring lecture with Chen on the evening of Friday, June 16th, 2023, from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Chen will educate guests on her life, her experience working in the fashion industry, her experience running a business and some interesting similarities and differences between the fashion industry in China and America. Light refreshments and snacks will be served for your enjoyment. This special event is open to the public and no reservations are required to attend. Doors will open no earlier than 6:00pm.
