It’s December! It’s the Holidays! What do we need? A restorative event in the midst of holiday activities. The Third Friday event A Gift for our Friends is designed to give Reboli Center friends and community members such an event Friday, December 20 from 6 – 8 PM.
Our guest artist Tyler Hughes will be painting a portrait using a live model. While he paints, a musical group will play music. Watching the creative process in this soothing atmosphere should provide audience members with inspiration and a holiday respite.
Tyler Hughes is a representational oil painter based in Richmond, VA. Since graduating from SUNY New Paltz in 2015, with a degree in Visual Arts, Tyler has been training classically, being heavily influenced by tenebrists such as Caravaggio and Ribera, and naturalists from the Renaissance to Sargent, bringing traditional techniques into contemporary settings. Tyler has studied with internationally acclaimed artists John Traynor, Steve Forester, Marc Dalessio and Kevin McEvoy. Tyler has been privately instructing since 2017 and often frequents his hometown of Kings Park, NY to seek inspiration from the beautiful surrounding landscape. Tyler currently is exhibiting at The SoHo Art Show, New York NY, The Reboli Center's White House Exhibit, Stony Brook NY, and Dacia Gallery's Nine Year Anniversary Exhibition, New York NY.
Everyone at the Reboli Center realizes that in late December what we want and need is a special place to finish up shopping in a warm and friendly atmosphere that ends up leaving everyone relaxed and welcoming the wonderful holiday!! Our Design Shop will be open during the event and gifts will be wrapped free of charge. Besides the art and music, we’ll have cookies and hot cider. We hope that you will join us for the evening.
