Patricia Paladines, photographer, will be the speaker at the Reboli Center for Art and History’s Third Friday event, October 20th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Ms. Paladines will share some recent photographs from her travels to Madagascar, Antarctica and more local sites.
From 2009 to 2016 Patricia was the Program Officer for the Institute for the Conservation of Tropical Environments (ICTE) at Stony Brook University. ICTE manages a research station in Madagascar. While working with ICTE founder and Stony Brook University Distinguished Professor, Dr. Patricia Wright, Ms. Paladines traveled to Madagascar on various occasions to work with the Malagasy staff and accompany study abroad groups. Patricia is a graduate of Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Multi-disciplinary Studies: Biology, Anthropology, and Spanish. She was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and immigrated to Chicago with her parents at the age of 3. She moved to New York in 1985. She lives in Setauket with her husband Dr. Carl Safina, 2 dogs, 2 parrots, 4 hens and a snake named Frankie.
