The Summer Exhibit of the Setauket Artists will be held in the Reboli Center for Art and History in Stony Brook from July 23- August 4. The Setauket Artists are a group of artists founded 39 years ago with a motto of “Art for a Lifetime.” Members from all over Long Island paint in a variety of genres and subject matter but are particularly interested in painting local Long Island scenes.
The show, curated by Irene Ruddock, will feature over thirty paintings. Works by artists Renee Caine, John Mansueto, Joan Rockwell, Al Candia, Patricia Yantz, and Angela Stratton feature the local landscape with their own diverse techniques and subject matter. Twenty-five additional contributors will show the range and depth of talent that is part of this well-known consortium.
The Reboli Center sponsors exhibits of other artists because of Joe Reboli’s interest and advocacy of many artists during his own lifetime. Lois Reboli, President of the Reboli Center, recalled, “Joe was very supportive of local artists and especially of the Setauket Art Show at the Neighborhood House, encouraging many to show there. The Reboli Center is pleased to welcome the group to our wonderful building.”
