Ty Stroudsburg, noted Long Island painter, is the featured guest at the Reboli Center for Art and History’s Third Friday event to be held Friday, July 23, from 6 – 8 PM. Ms.Stroudsburg’s work is currently on exhibit at the Reboli Center. She will be interviewed by fellow artist, Doug Reina. This event continues a series of free monthly cultural programs sponsored by the Center that brings new perspectives on art and artists.
Ms. Stroudsburg whose painting career spans 55 years is nationally recognized for her use of color. The New York Times reviewer once wrote that her work bridges the area between realistic description and pure color expression. During the evening, Ms. Stroudsburg will demonstrate, with examples, how her work has always combined a love for the natural landscape with a devotion to abstraction. Over the years both elements have always been present, sometimes more abstract, sometimes more representational. An experimental approach with paint has always been a grounding force in the avenues she explored as a painter. As a fellow painter, Mr. Reina will bring out the most interesting ideas in the discussion of Ms. Stroudsburg’s artistic journey
