April's Third Friday | Art History Lecture with Kevin McEvoy

  • The Reboli Center for Art and History 64 Main Street Stony Brook, NY, 11790 (map)

PLEASE NOTE: Our Third Friday Special is arriving a week early this month due to scheduling needs!

Award winning artist and Art History enthusiast, Kevin McEvoy, will teach guests about Giotto di Bondone, Italian painter and architect from Florence during the Late Middle Ages who is oftentimes noted as the first great artist of the Renaissance. Giotto's paintings are important, in that they mark a return to drawing from nature itself, rather than relying on conventions from the past. McEvoy will enlighten guests to many interesting aspects of Giotto’s work, such as the profound spiritual revelations depicted in his work, and his sensitivity to the emotions in human relationships.
